Ammonium Dichromate Reaction

(NH4)2Cr2O7
<--------->
N2 + 4H2O + Cr2O3

Ammonium dichromate is set off by igniting with a wooden splint. Green chromium(III) oxide ash is vigorously erupts out of the pile of ammonium dichromate with bright sparks. The ash is very toxic because some carcinogenic chromium(VI) is not reduced to chromium(III) before being expelled from the core of the reaction.
